Annual In Harmony festival pulls plug for 2005

The Peninsula's popular In Harmony Music Festival has been silenced.

Organizers have cancelled the autumn weekend concert series for 2005 because the event's site, Camp Kwomais, is "under review and will not be available this summer."

"It is the organizers' sincere hope that the festival will return in 2006," said lead organizer Harriet Quint in a press release this week.

"To that end (we) will continue to promote music in the Peninsula by staging concerts and dances to raise funds for a future event. Watch for a dance to be held at Camp Alexandra on May 22."

Quint said the organizers would like to thank all sponsors, supporters, volunteers and musicians who have helped make In Harmony "the premiere music festival of the White Rock/South Surrey community for the last 11 years."
